Kids say the darndest things

Have you ever watched that show? Those kids are entertaining...

For those of you who still don't know (yet), I joined the school choir. And I'm also doing part-time teaching at Classic Music Conservatory, violin for beginners. I teach mostly kids. Well, actually they're all kids, below the age of 10, I think. Those kids I teach, they're very active. Each of them are like.. you know when you hit a ping-pong ball very hard, so confident that it'll make it over the net but it misses the table and drops on the floor, bounces up and down and it's pretty hard to catch? Yeah.. haha. Well, I was surprised by some words that came out of their mouths.

There's this Korean boy, Of course his mother tongue is the Korean language but he speaks English to me. He knows some BM, Chinese and Hokkien. He knows simple BM words like ayam, cacing, etc.. Chinese: Wo ta ni pi ku. Wo ta ni pi ku. Haha. He didn't say it with the correct pinyin so it sounded a little funny. Hokkien: Kukuciao O.o!! Pang sai x.x Haha. He loves Adidas. There's one girl who said to me, "My mommy let me wear sexy shirt today.." So cute. 'Sexy' means fancy and no sleeves lah.

Then, another girl.

Girl: Teacher, touch my *pats her I-don't-wanna-say part down there*.

I gave the 'WHAT?! NO WAY. EWW.' look. I guess she was just .. trying to get me to play with her. I'm 'young' and easy for them to manipulate, so they think. One day, I was talking to a friend of mine, Joanne who was also teaching part-time at CMC and the girl said, "Teacher, that is your boyfriend. You kiss her and marry her. *giggles, giggles*." I was like, 'Noh...?!' Haha. -.-"

Yesterday, was sticker mania for two of my students (they're siblings). I promised to bring stickers for them yesterday so I kinds made a deal with them. (I gave all my students stickers yesterday. I'm ADIL. haha)

"Teacher give you sticker, you guai guai today arh.." I said that in Mandarin, believe it or not? Haha. For those of you who know me, you know that I don't know much Mandarin and I'm a little bit 'banana' but the words in my Mandarin vocabulary is enough for me to survive. However, I dare say that my Mandarin has improved ever since I sat next to Joan in class, with mostly students who study Bahasa Cina sitting around me. I never fail to speak at least one, two, maybe 10 Mandarin words in a day. Haha. Okay, back to the sticker issue. Initially, I said they could have 2 stickers each otherwise 'no stock liao' you know. They were like 'Oh, oh'. Right.. Soon after, they asked for another one. Then they said they wanted to give one to their younger sister. So they took some more. I think they took like 5 each. I said 'no more, next time.' They even asked me to write their names on the stickers they want, got 'booking' want arh.. The boy asked if I had Doraemon stickers, I only had Hello Kitty, Pokemon (or pukekmon.. haha), Winnie the Pooh and Minnie Mouse.. Haha. My mom bought them. Thanks mom :D

Another girl, the eldest girl among my students. I don't know if it's her hobby or something, she seems to love to talk gibberish. She would just Blarh blarh blarh I tell you. I won't understand a single word in her 'modified' sentence. She even wrote me this:

If you can't read it, it says: Alititi kissed your PIKU the whole night. BYE-BYE.

She says that 'Alititi' is my boyfriend. Oh-kay... Then, another one.

It reads: Poor fellow, you and Alititi kissed the whole night, Ha Ha! You little 'hie ma' girl (she was trying to say 'hiaw ma'). You love Alititi!

Alititi? FYI, I do not know anyone by that name and I'm so single XP Haha.

Here's a vid. The little girl is really cute! Must watch! I wanna take her out from the laptop screen and put her into my pocket.

Isn't she adorable? She loves Dora the Explorer. haha.

When dealing with children, one needs patience, a lot of patience.

Tuesday was the longest day of the week.

20th May.
SMK BL choir performed at Crowne Plaza for State-Level Teacher's Day celebration. And because many students were involved, the school decided not to have exams on Tuesday. So thank us because ya'll have one extra day to cram all the information from your textbooks into your brains :D Lol.

How was my Tuesday? Here's a recap.

500 hrs- Wake up
610 hrs- Go to school hoping to reach before 630 otherwise teacher *piang* us. haha. Punctual bah. I'm known for not being punctual at times.

So I reached school before 630 and went to bilik kuliah, grab my clothes and went to change at the toilet. The school was rather empty and quiet, the sky was still blue. Oh, how serene! The toilet was dark o.O
When everyone arrived, we did our vocal warm-ups and stuff.

730 hrs- Walk out to SM Teknik (in heels! haha.. I wasn't as smart as Lina early in the morning). Bus leaves for Crowne Plaza. Air-conditioned! Yay! The bus was in really good condition, high-classed. I want that bus. Haha.

-REHEARSAL-

So we waited backstage for like.. VERY LONG! I could have walked half the distance of the entire Great Wall of China .. haha. My feet were sore, tired eyes. After the rehearsal was completed, the people there asked for another round. It was already about 11, nearing 12 noon by then and I had to go home and go back to school by 3pm! So I stayed for the 2nd round of rehearsal but skipped the finale rehearsal.

1500 hrs- At bilik kuliah, air-conditioned. Yipee. Ralph was sleeping on the floor (photo at Lina's blog).
We had hair and make-up session.

Von. Eugene. Azizul

Then we left school around 530pm. Had dinner at that space just outside Sarawak Chamber. That space became the choir's spot for the night. Azizul's camera was the 'IT' camera. Ralph spent the most time with it, snapping loads of pictures with it. Ralph the paparazzi :) While having dinner, Aaron showed us girls some magic trick- he 'ate' my money. Yes, ATE. He put the 10cent coin into his mouth and he won't tell me where it went. Haha.

We started getting ready backstage around 7 something, I don't know. I didn't wear a watch. And yes, we WAITED ..FOR SO THE VERY LONG. We grumbled backstage. Haha. Some even brought their books to study. Can go in meh? :P

*Fast-forward, skip the performances. Lol*

The event ended, boarded the bus back to school. Boy oh boy was it quiet. I guessed eveyone was just so tired to even talked about the night. Reached school, my mom was already there. Thank you, mom, for picking me up. I know it was very late and what more to say the next day was a school day. Reached home close to 12 midnite so I quickly washed up and went to bed. Not more than 7 hours later, I was back in school again! Lol

All in all, it was a good experience. IT WAS A VERY LONG NIGHT THOUGH. I couldn't wait to get home and lie on my bed and Zzzzzzz. But I was sad the fun was over. However........ there's another choir event next Wednesday! Haha.

Akasyah & Zaty

Just outside Sarawak Chamber, where we had our dinner like homeless people - sit on the floor and anywhere else as long as can eat. But we are civilised people, k? Lol.

Lina .. wih her famous erh.. expression. Lol

What is a night at Crowne Plaza without.. Susan? Haha.

They call him Eugene. Akasyah calls him 'Celaka Boy'. I call him SEXEH NERD! Awesome violin playing, Gene :) He asked me to take this picture.

Golden Girls: Joan, Tracy, Joyce and Akasyah

After many rounds of Geylang si paku geylang, some guests were leaving but many were still hanging around in the ballroom and we students wanted to go home, our hands were tired because we kept waving and clapping to the song, the Caklempong was still playing on. I could see the teacher-in-charge of the Caklempong signalling the students to play on and I was like 'Oh, please stop..". Haha. So, there was a long pause with only the melody of the song in the background and then someone started singing again so we all sang along too, this time, more emphasis to the song and full of expression.

Geylang si paku geylang
Geylang si rama-rama
PULANG marilah PULANG marilah PULANG bersama-sama
PULANG marilah PULANG marilah PULANG bersama-sama.

Sometimes, they just have to listen between the lines. Haha. It was so funny, what happened on stage, I cracked myself up.

Dare to answer the phone?

I don't want to jinx anything.

Have you heard about it or received an SMS about the call? THE CALL. haha. I received a text message from a friend of mine last night and I kinda ignored it. Then Neece asked me about it this afternoon and I thought, 'Oh, so everyone's talking about it..' Then, while I was chatting with Nazmi he asked me about it too. I was so surprised that the issue which I've only known about for less than 24 hours was so popular, comparable to Mariah's secret wedding. The only difference-Mariah really did get married.

Thank you, Nazmi for giving me this link [click here to read about THE CALL] I like the last paragraph. I don't know how true this is but.. just make sure you read the last paragraph. Read everything. haha.

I had my handphone before Christmas back in Form 2 and I bought my SIM card a few days after that. I chose the number by myself, which I'm still using now. I chose it because it was easy to remember. And ever since, I've received calls from people I don't know. A LOT OF CALLS. Prank, random, misdialled or maybe that someone gave them the wrong number, whatever they were. They were looking for people by names which don't even sound or rhyme with my name. haha.. so I guessed they really got the wrong number. But how can so many people get the wrong number and dialled my number instead?? It's really annoying, you know. Just yesterday afternoon I received a call from a lady in Kuching (082..) She was looking for 'Nawawi'. I was like.. HUH?

Lady: Hello. Nawawi, please.
Me: Er.. wrong number...
Lady: Hello? ...
Me: Hello..?
Lady: Is this 016-xxx xxxx?
Me: Ya....
Lady: Wrong number eih? .. Oh okay.. (hangs up)

Before that call, I had a missed call from that same number in the morning, obviously I was in school and my phone was not turned on. The day before that, I had a missed call from another Kuching number. And many more random calls before this from people I don't know. It's just super annoying. Sometimes even scary. You know, phone scams and all that. I received a missed call from some international number which had a '+' at the front when I was in Beijing on holiday in 2006. So weird. So, before I read the article (click on the link up there to read if you haven't) I dread for phone calls. I was watching badminton on tv earlier and the phone rang. I answered it but I didn't put the receiver close to my ear. I heard SHSHHHHHSHSHHH sounds at the other end then I heard a voice o.O

Lady: Hello. Yvonne arh? Mummy leh?
Me: Oh. *calls for mum*

I was so relieved when I read the article but even more relieved that ... that someone I knew called. haha.

I can answer my phone now, so can you! :D

What I did when I was free and bored.

Now, here's something for those tired eyes-the beauties of nature! If the celebrity world has Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, etc... My house has plants and insects! Yeah! -.-

These pictures were taken in February. So few months ago.. Lol.

Flower, flower..... Orchid lah

These are just beautiful. Look carefully, the flowers look like angels with their hands held up to the middle or dancing angels. Lights up my face every time I look at them, but now they're gone. Have to wait for the new batch to come in. Reproduction.

What looks like a grasshopper to me but it's 'flower-hopping'. XP

Did you know that grasshoppers only use 3 of its legs to move while the other 3 legs support the body? Yes, this is so true (refer to Biology Form 5 Chapter 2: Support and Locomotion). Haha. Oh ShOOt!! I just realised that I mentioned that earthworms have exoskeletons! MAKUKU.

Earth to Yvonne: Earthworms have hydrostatic skeletons!

I hope teacher won't consider my whole essay wrong. I only got the skeleton wrong, can? Other than that I did mention about the circular and longitudinal muscles, chaetae.. this is my favourite chapter in Biology so far, don't make me hate it. Lol.

I can do it! Can I?

It is just impossible. 12 chapters of Biology+experiments to revise. I know. I should have started so much earlier than this, like a month or two ago. Oh well... I can't turn back time. I just sat for History Paper 1 today without reading the whole Form 4 book. "Suicidal, suicidal, till you say it's over..." I had to tembak *ahem* wisely. And I was at the Sarawak Chamber at Crowne Plaza for about 3 hours, went home around 530pm. Was already so sleepy then and now I have Biology to deal with.. Less typing, more studying! :P

Meanwhile, (while my dad is still using the internet so the wireless router is still on) I'm checking on the scores for Thomas and Uber Cup 2008. I can't watch tv, otherwise I'll be stuck in front the square box till it the matches end. I'm not watching American Idol either :( Hope I'll be able to catch the repeat at 1pm tomorrow afternoon atfer school.

Live Scores here www.tournamentsoftware.com

Wait, I think Xie Xinfang just lost. haha.
GO MALAYSIA x.x
Bring the cup back.. haha.
